Getting Prepared in Central Florida For Hurricane Season

Central Florida weather can be tricky from August through November, hurricane season is in full swing as the ocean waters heat up.  Reality is that families that live on the coastline home insurance is much more. Good thing is that Floridians receive a warning from the local news. However living in Central Florida is great.

You are truly much more protected from battered hurricanes with a lot of punches as it is torn apart once reaching Central Florida. From past experiences on living inland we are more so protected as the coastline severely gets hit with high seas and raving winds that are easily capable of taking off roofs.  Depending how wide and speed of the hurricane is depends on the damage. The feeder bands on the outside of a hurricane can be just as damaging and can spur pop up tornadoes. Living inland in Central Florida we generally receive 3-6 hours of rain and wind, again depending on how fast hurricane is moving.

Precautions are put all garbage cans and anything loose inside home and garage. Please ensure you have proper insurance coverage on your home. When buying a home please ensure you obtain home insurance outside of hurricane season. If not you may pay a premium inside this season. If there is a hurricane forming depending on where, they may stop writing policies on homes. Please make sure you do you thorough homework when shopping for home insurance to include deductibles.
