This storm, Hurricane Ivan devastated on or about 70% of the State of Florida with floods and major damage and a serious reminder of Hurricane Andrew. With 150 miles an hour wind at category four, Cayo Costa took a direct hit near Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Sanibel Island and Naples and thousands of homes destroyed and 78 people reported dead and still counting.
Massive flooding and damages to homes and will be quite some time for the State to regroup with repairs. The logistical work to dispatch repair crews is a major operation and hours of work behind the scenes. Utility crews form out of State came from all over the southeast region for support for life-threatening inundation from this storm.

As the storm barreled from the Gulf of Mexico across Central Florida it dumped massive amounts of water on downtown that was flooded, also many parts of Orlando to include many million dollar waterfront properties in Windermere, Dr Phillips and Winter Garden were devastated and Lake Eola severely flooded. Polk, Orange and parts of Osceola County were hit with an abundance of water. Trees are all in the streets and over roofs torn off thousands of homes.
